Applesauce with Prana Kitchens Chai Masala

Ingredients

  • 6 Pink Lady apples, cut into ½ inch cubes (any tart apple variety works)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon lemon zest
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon Prana Kitchens Chai Masala
  • 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Add apples and the other ingredients to a saucepan. Place the saucepan on the stove on medium heat and bring the apple mixture to a boil. Cover and simmer with the lid on for 15-20 minutes, stirring periodically.

  2. Take the lid off and use a spoon to check if the apples are cooked —if you are able to mash the apple cubes, the applesauce is ready.
  3. Turn the stove off and allow the applesauce to cool slightly before mashing the apple pieces roughly with a potato masher. You could also use the hand blender if you prefer a smoother consistency.
  4. Let the applesauce cool completely before storing it in an airtight container; it will thicken as it cools. Enjoy as a topping on yogurt or crackers, or just by itself!

Sweet apples get a warming twist with Prana Kitchens Chai Masala, turning classic apple sauce into a cozy, flavorful treat. Perfect for a comforting snack.
