Ingredients
- 1 cup chickpeas
- 1 large tomato (heirloom or beefsteak), chopped
- 2” fresh ginger, thinly sliced

½ tsp SRS turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp Prana Kitchens Garam Masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp oil

1 tbsp lemon juice
- Chopped cilantro

1 tbsp Kasuri methi (optional - dry fenugreek leaves)

Directions
Soak the chickpeas in ample water overnight or for 8 hours. Drain and rinse thoroughly before use.
For Instant Pot cooking, add chickpeas, salt, and enough water to cover. Pressure cook for 15 minutes. On a stovetop, simmer chickpeas in enough water until tender. It will take about 25-30 minutes.
In a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat, heat oil. Sauté ginger for 2 minutes. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until softened, stirring occasionally.
Blend the tomato spice mix with 3 tablespoons of cooked chickpeas until smooth puree forms.
Combine the blended puree with the cooked chickpeas and SRS turmeric powder. Simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until well-cooked.
Add Prana Kitchens Garam Masala and simmer on low heat for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro and Kasuri methi.
